Ork Army Concept

I've decided to run a alpha strike shooting army that will, in theory, be marginally affected by escalation. I hope not to run into escalation at Las Vegas, but GW does keep insisting on stupid scenarios.

So this army offers:

2 Big Meks with SAGs. I'm not convinced of their utility, but after I figured out I wanted everything else in the list I had just enough points to run these or 1 Warboss on a bike. So this is it, the Warboss is nice but I don't want to run one--seems like everyone else will though.

30 Lootas. Possible 90 autocannon shots. What's not to like.

6 Trukk Boyz squads, 18 shoota shots + 1 rokkit. Trukk with rokkit.
A 12" lurch forward with the trukk boyz should get everyone in range to fire.

9 Warbuggies, 27 twin-linked big shoota shots. Keeping these out of bolter range should help them survive.

9 kannons. 9 BS3 frag or krak shots. Again, out of bolter range=good. There's only so many heavy bolter / autocannon units the other guy will likely have.

Everything is fragile, of course, but such is the way things go.

I don't think many armies can handle the firepower. I have enough units I should be able to keep firing for several turns.

Adding it all up:

2 Shokk Blasts
9 BS3 36" S4 blasts or S8 missiles.
27 BS2 twin-linked 36" S5 shots.
30-90 BS2 S7 48" shots.
108 BS2 S4 18" shots.
6 BS2 S8 24" shots [Ork Boyz]
6 BS2 S8 24" shots [Trukks]

So 30-90 autocannon shots, 21 missile shots, 2 shokks, and 135 anti-infantry shots.

92 Orks, 18 grots/9 artillery, 15 vehicles.

Seems properly excessive.
